Now,state post offices with a corporate look

State post offices are undergoing a customer-centric transformation, aiming to provide an array of services in a corporate-style environment. The Uttar Pradesh Department of Posts is revitalizing and modernizing 50 post offices across the state through Project Arrow. The newly-renovated Dilkusha Post Office was inaugurated for public use on Tuesday by Col Kamlesh Chandra, Chief Post Master General of the UP Circle.

A total of four post offices in Lucknow, including Chowk, Alambagh, and Dilkusha, have been selected for renovation and computerization under Project Arrow. Three of these post offices have already been refurbished and reopened, with the New Hyderabad post office scheduled to become operational on Wednesday.

Acknowledging the need for improvement, A K Srivastava, Senior Superintendent of Lucknow Division, expressed, “Over time, we realized that we were losing ground due to our customer service not aligning with private organizations. The overall ambiance of the post offices also required a change.”

In addition to traditional services, Project Arrow post offices introduce two new money order services: Instant Money Order and Electronic Money Order (EMO). Srivastava highlighted the advantages of these systems, emphasizing their speed and ease of tracking. Under EMO, recipients can obtain a printout of the money order receipt, and the delivery can be arranged either at the recipient’s doorstep or through self-collection by presenting the e-receipt.
